Housekeeping

For me, it seems that every time we do a big clean up we some how manage to throw out something that we should have kept. This was the case on the weekend. Our PC at home is filled to capacity and was threatening to shut down completely. So Trev had a little tidy up and decided to move all our photos and music files to dvd. Great plan, and it freed up loads of space so the computer is happy again. However, i went in on Sunday afternoon to print up some of my florist photos and couldn't find them on the disks. Ok, no need to panic, im sure Trev has just put them somewhere safe. I called Trev in, and away from the Bulldogs game, to see where the files are. Mild panic set in when Trev started to look in various files and eventually swore. Sadness, they were gone. And being the diligent little cleaner Trev is, not only were they deleted from their original files, the recycle bin was emptied and the disk de-frag run. Ok time to panic...

Trev then downloaded and purchased some file recovery software and spent the next 24hrs trying (or thinking about how to) retrieve the files. We had a win when on Monday night he thought to run the recovery program on the digital camera and we managed to recall the Bridal workshop flowers and a few from other classes.

So happiness again. I still lost most of the photos but at least we managed to get back the ones i hadn't printed... and i can get some of them back from my blog (yay blog!). And, I know, i can hear you all saying.... why haven't i backed up the files before.....well i will from now on :)

oh and in the middle of this we saw Wil Anderson's show on Sunday night, it was good, very different to what i was expecting though. But we were in need of a good laugh at that stage so it was good.
